The news follows the departure of studio head Haden Blackman, who is leaving to “ pursue his passion at a new endeavor,” alongside chief operating officer Matthew Urban. The order to play the Mafia games is complicated by Mafia: Definitive Edition, despite each game being numbered, since the remaster contains references to the second and third installments in the franchise. Development of Mafia 3 transitioned to studio Hangar 13 and brought players to the New Orleans-inspired New Bordeaux in the 1960s. Mafia 2, meanwhile, is set in the fictional city of Empire Bay and stars war veteran and mobster Vito Scaletta. ![]() This first game takes players to the fictional city of Lost Haven, Illinois in the 1930s and casts them as taxi driver-turned-criminal Tommy Angelo.
